Wahid is the Managing Partner of Amaly Legacy, a platform combining fintech, asset management and an innovation studio to help foundations, NGOs and funders channel capital into development and transition investments, with over 20,000 lives impacted to date. He has led the design, launch and scaling of a tech-enabled asset management platform in highly regulated markets, onboarding institutional partners across Africa, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, and is currently developing a carbon project covering around 600,000 hectares of forest in East Africa.

He brings more than ten years of experience across fundraising, investment, restructuring and strategic advisory. Before Amaly Legacy, he worked on special situations and distressed real estate debt and equity mandates at a London-headquartered global asset manager with over €95bn in assets, and on M&A and strategic advisory engagements at KPMG, where he advised on more than $20bn of sell-side and buy-side transactions. His work has involved global investors including Mubadala, Temasek, GIC, CDPQ, CPP Investments and Deutsche Bank’s Special Situations Group.

Wahid regularly convenes funders representing over $15 trillion in assets, including the Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, Mubadala, EBRD, the Green Climate Fund, BlackRock and IFC, and has led thought leadership publications on carbon markets and regenerative farming. He holds an LLB and an LLM in M&A, Banking and Capital Markets from London, and comes from a multicultural family with roots in the Emirates dating back to the 1940s.
